Description
With any factory valvetrain there is a limit for performance, so Ferrea has developed a valve train solution to not only allow higher rev limits, but to allow for big hp, and higher EGT's.
Ferrea Valvetrain components are of the highest quality available. They have super alloy materials that are used in the exhaust valves of this kit. The competitions valves are made of inconel and rated to 1750deg egt, where Ferrea's super alloy is good for 2400!!!! That's a huge difference.
**This kit DOES NOT Include Valves, You are looking at the kit that does NOT include the valves, this is everything else for those who wish to use STOCK VALVES!**
With this kit you can take the fsi into 8k rpm range without issue.
Ferrea's Lifter Shim for the FSI cylinder head is designed to alleviate two major performance/reliability issues: Upon high RPM the stability of the FSI rockers have been known to diminish which can cause the rocker to be kicked off of the lifter socket and/or break the spring-retaining clips. When the engine operates at an RPM higher than it was engineered for, the rate of cycles per second becomes so extreme that it cannot maintain proper valve lash tension due to the oil pressure-filling capacity being overcome by the excessive cycle frequency of the cam lobe compressing the lifter body. Even if you are not experiencing a rocker failure, you may very well be losing significant horsepower due to the rocker not following the cam lobe properly. If this occurs within an engine then the importance of the camshaft specifications are no longer of value as the valve is no longer following the lobe properly.
