These parts are a direct relacement/upgrade for 02a/j/m/q vw and audi manual transaxles with cables.
They replace the worn out, white plastic bushings that the side to side shifter arm pivets on.
Unlike other items on the market these are made of bronze, honed to the proper ID, not bass giving them a long life expectancy without worry of premature wear.
They also work on newer vehicles with plastic shift arms that wish to use an older metal one.
